Over the years I discovered that Iligan is not yet known even to many of my fellow Filipinos especially those living in the regions of Visayas and mostly in the regions of Luzon. Visayas and Luzon are two of the three major islands that make up the Philippine territory. The third is Mindanao, where Iligan is located. I created this blogsite to make known not only to my fellow countrymen and women but to the whole world my hometown, Iligan City, otherwise known as “The Industrial City of the South” and “The City of Majestic Waterfalls.” I believe that Tourism has a significant contribution to the development of my hometown. I want to contribute to whatever good Tourism has brought for my country particularly for my hometown, Iligan. With this effort of mine, however little, I hope to draw more people to discover the beauty and bounty of Iligan and to awaken in my fellow Iliganons, the concern for our local development through the benefits of Tourism and the interest to care for the environment. I hope that more and more people not only Filipinos but also foreign nationals will come to discover the unique richness and charm of Iligan. So, take your time to go around here. Acquaint yourself with what Iligan has to offer. You might one day, find yourself walking in the streets of Iligan. Do not hurry. Feel the comeliness of my humble hometown. Tinago Falls

The falls is hidden in a deep ravine, cascading into a calm, deep and cool basin-like pool. It's deep, and one can't see anything below even with diving goggles. Swimming or just floating in it gives one a rare thrill.

Actually, there's more than one waterfall. There's a main fall, and on each side are countless smaller ones, as though sprouting from everywhere. The span of these wondrous waters is so wide that it takes a super wide angle lens to capture all of them in one photograph. It has an elevation of approximately 420 feet. It is 13.8 kilometers away from the city proper. Tinago Falls is one of the most beautiful falls in the country. “Tinago” means hidden. As the name implies, it is indeed hidden by nature in a deep ravine covered by trees and other wild vegetation. The falls is 420 feet high. One has to go downhill and follow the winding trail to take a look.
